Illustration Friday: Vacant

Photobucket

It is both sad and significant, knowing you've reached a point in your life when you've simply outgrown your old haunts. Time to move on.

Very bad scan, I'll try to get a better one up later.

Illustration Blog

Hi, my name's Sarah Wade and I'm an illustrator.
I'm a recent graduate from the Savannah College of Art and design with a BFA in Illustration. I have several blogs, and art galleries in existence, including my personal online gallery at www.heartinmyart.com

There are several reasons I've decided to create a new blog dedicated to my art.

1. Since graduating I've secured a job as an Art Teacher, and teach classes to children between ages 3 and 11. While this is fulfilling work I find myself doing less and less art of my own. By participating in weekly art challenges like Illustration Friday I intend to reconnect with the Illustration world and other artists like myself, and have a chance to explore my abilities as an artist and further my skills.

2. I'm recently married and am trying to establish a new identity as an Artist by my married name. My maiden name is Pettis and any work previous to what I post here will be easiest to find under that name. I am also on the precipice of beginning a new life with my husband by moving from Atlanta, my home for almost 10 years to Washington state. I intend to express through my art my experiences in what I think of as my transition from wayward college student to professional adult.
